We work with inventors and counsel to identify and understand each invention and to understand how each invention fits into our client's strategic goals. With that information in hand, we draft a patent application targeted to the needs of the client. As appropriate, we take the time to educate inventors so that they know what to expect, how to read the patent application, and what will be expected of them.
After a patent application is filed, we continue our focus on the client's goals. We endeavor to work cordially with the assigned Patent Examiner (via interviews and official correspondence) to secure claims that are clear, well supported, and enforceable. We value our clients' time, so we take care of as much of the process as we can without interrupting the inventors or counsel, then we provide our client with a concise summary of the situation and a recommendation for how to proceed.
We advise clients regarding their trademark and branding strategies, including helping our clients secure and evaluate pre-filing searches; filing trademark applications, exhibits, and other documentation; and working with clients and trademark examiners to complete the examination and registration process.
We work with an extensive network of firms in other parts of the world to help our clients acquire and maintain global intellectual property portfolios.
